Amazon Q4 2026: Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deadlines

Amazon Q4 2026: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the Deadlines That Decide Your Quarter

Prime Big Deal Days Oct 6–7 · Black Friday Nov 27 · Cyber Monday Nov 30 · here’s what’s still open, what’s closed, and where the quarter is actually decided.

Q4 on Amazon is not one event. It is a series of them stacked inside eleven weeks, and by the middle of September several decisions have already been made for you.

Prime Big Deal Days returns October 6 and 7, running 48 hours from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 with Prime member deals across more than 35 categories. Black Friday lands on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. Between those two poles sit the inbound deadlines, the deal submission window, and a fulfillment fee change that takes effect on October 15 whether your promotional pricing accounts for it or not.

Here is what is still open, what has already closed, and where the quarter is actually decided.

The Amazon Q4 2026 calendar

Sales event Logistics deadline Fee or cost change
Oct 6–7 Prime Big Deal Days 18 days
Oct 14 Arrival deadline — AWD shipments ahead of Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday 26 days
Oct 15 Holiday peak fulfillment fees begin 27 days
Oct 20 Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deal submissions close 32 days
Oct 21 Arrival deadline — FBA shipments using minimal shipment splits 33 days
Oct 28 Arrival deadline — FBA shipments using Amazon-optimized shipment splits 40 days
Oct 31 Off-peak AWD monthly storage rate ends for sellers using automatic replenishment to FBA 43 days
Nov 27 Black Friday 70 days
Nov 30 Cyber Monday 73 days
Jan 14, '27 Holiday peak fulfillment fees end 118 days

These come from Amazon’s Seller Central holiday announcement. Two details matter more than the dates themselves. Amazon frames the inbound deadlines as what is needed to ensure Prime-badge eligibility for your products during the events, and they are arrival dates, so inventory has to be at Amazon’s facilities by then. Amazon also notes that most sellers select the Amazon-optimized shipment splits option, which is the October 28 deadline.

Amazon calls the November event Black Friday Week in its seller communications, so plan for a multi-day window rather than a single Friday.

The Prime Big Deal Days ladder has already closed. Deal submissions shut on September 8, and the inbound deadlines were September 2 for AWD, September 9 for minimal splits and September 16 for Amazon-optimized splits. Everything still in play is the Black Friday line.

Discounting in October does not cost you in November

This is the detail most Q4 coverage skips, and it changes how aggressive you can be on the October event.

Amazon has confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days promotional prices are excluded from the 30-day and 60-day lookback windows, and will not affect the maximum deal price required for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deals.

In practice that means an October promotion does not reset the reference price your November deal has to beat. If you were holding back depth in October to protect Black Friday eligibility, that constraint does not apply this year.

The fee floor moves on October 15

Holiday peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027 across FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime, at the same per-unit increase over non-peak rates as last year, averaging $0.32 per unit, with the 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge applying on top.

The number is manageable. The mistake is structural. Deal depth and coupon budgets for November tend to get approved in September against September economics. You do not need to estimate the difference: Amazon has loaded peak rates into the Revenue Calculator, the Profit Analytics dashboard and the Fee and Economics Preview Report so you can compare costs across fulfillment types. Pull the peak number per SKU, then set your promotional floors against it.

Capacity is the constraint people miss

Amazon says its fulfillment center teams focus on receiving holiday shipments in September and October, then shift to processing customer orders in November and December, so sellers may see lower capacity limits during this period. Late inventory is not just a deadline problem, it is a receiving-queue problem.

Two things worth knowing if you are carrying more stock than your limits comfortably allow. Amazon reports that sellers enrolled in Amazon Warehousing and Distribution in the fourth quarter of 2025 saw an increase of over 13% in shipped units and a greater than 30% reduction in out-of-stock days during the quarter, and sellers who send inventory through AWD with automatic replenishment to FBA enabled keep paying the off-peak monthly storage rate through October 31, 2026. Capacity Manager is the other route, letting you bid for extra fulfillment center space.

That October 31 storage date is easy to miss because it sits outside the deal and inbound calendar.

What last Q4 actually did to the auction

The standard holiday advice is to brace for a cost-per-click spike and bid harder. The most recent benchmark data does not support that as a blanket rule. The figures below come from Tinuiti’s Q4 2025 Digital Ads Benchmark Report, which is based on anonymized data from advertising programs under Tinuiti management, with over $4 billion in annual spend under management, restricted to programs that kept a consistent strategy across the periods studied. Treat it as a large managed sample rather than platform-wide truth.

Clicks on Amazon Sponsored Products rose 23% year over year in Q4 2025, the fifth straight quarter of double-digit growth, while average CPC declined 1%, with pricing falling in four of the last five quarters. Sponsored Brands investment rose only 2% year over year, with an 8% decline in clicks offset by a 12% increase in cost per click. Sponsored Display spend fell 47% against the same quarter a year earlier, with clicks and CPC both down 27%.

Two things follow. On Sponsored Products, the binding constraint during peak is usually budget pacing and in-stock position rather than bid ceiling. A campaign that goes dark at 2 p.m. on Cyber Monday loses more than a campaign bidding a few cents low. On Sponsored Brands, cost pressure is real, which makes branded defense a placement problem rather than a bidding problem.

The budget is also moving. Advertisers running both Ad Console and Amazon DSP put 40% of total Amazon budgets into the DSP in Q4 2025, up from 39% in Q3, and DSP spend rose 31% year over year with impressions up 32% and CPM down 1%.

If your holiday plan is still Sponsored Products with a small display line attached, it is a quarter behind where the money is going. Our breakdown of Amazon DSP vs Sponsored Ads in 2026 covers how the two layers fit together.

Shoppers now arrive with price memory

This is the part of Q4 2026 with no precedent in your historical data.

Alexa for Shopping lets shoppers set deal alerts on specific products or categories, set a target price on any item and turn on Auto-Buy so Alexa purchases automatically when the price hits that target, and check up to 365 days of pricing history on hundreds of millions of products from the product detail page.

Three implications

01

Pricing integrity is visible.

A list price raised in October and discounted in November is a year of price history a shopper can open in one tap. Build promotional depth off your real trailing price.

02

Demand can trigger on price rather than on browsing.

Auto-Buy and target price alerts mean part of your conversion happens the moment a threshold is crossed. Being out of stock at that moment hands the sale to whoever else the shopper was tracking.

03

Traffic arrives in waves inside the event.

During Prime Big Deal Days, new Today’s Big Deals drop three times a day, at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT. Those are predictable intraday spikes. Check budget headroom against them instead of spreading a flat daily cap across 24 hours.

Defend branded search at a fixed price

If Sponsored Brands cost per click is the line that inflates during peak, reserving the placement instead of bidding for it is worth evaluating before November.

Amazon launched reserve share of voice in October 2025. It lets advertisers secure top-of-search Sponsored Brands placements for branded keywords at a fixed, upfront price, fully self-service, with keyword recommendations, real-time pricing and management through the Ads Console or API. In Amazon’s beta, comparing participants on the same branded search queries, top-of-search impression share on reserved keywords moved from 62.7% to 99.3%, click-through rate moved from 3.5% to 4.1%, the lost top-of-search sales ratio fell from 10.3% to 0.3%, and click-attributed sales rose 143%. It is available in the United States, Canada and Mexico, among other marketplaces.

Those are Amazon’s own beta figures on branded terms, so read them as a ceiling rather than a forecast. The reason to look now is that branded queries climb hardest around Black Friday, when conquesting is most aggressive and your brand search volume is inflated by every other channel you are running.

A note for brands selling on Amazon.ca

Prime Big Deal Days runs for Prime members in 22 countries including Canada, though Amazon notes that dates may vary by country. Reserve share of voice is available in Canada as well as the United States and Mexico, so the branded-search play is open to Canadian sellers too.

If Amazon.ca is a meaningful share of your volume, the compliance side of your listings matters as much as the ad plan going into peak.

What to do between now and December

Now through October 5

Check inbound receipts against October 14, 21 and 28 and identify what will not make it. Pull peak-rate economics per SKU from the Revenue Calculator or Profit Analytics and lock promotional floors. Decide on AWD before the October 31 storage rate change. Audit detail pages before traffic arrives, since a suppressed listing costs more per hour in Q4 than in any other quarter. Our listing optimization guide has the checks worth running, and our breakdown of how Amazon ranking really works in 2026 covers what those pages need to earn organically.

October 6–7

Watch budget consumption against the three daily deal drops. Capture the audience, not just the revenue.

October 8–20

Submit Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deals before the October 20 close. Build audiences from event exposure.

October 21–November 26

Ramp Sponsored Products and DSP while pricing is still stable. Retarget October browsers using Amazon Marketing Cloud audiences. Manage to total advertising cost of sales across the window rather than reacting to daily ACoS, since ad-attributed efficiency tends to look worse before it looks better. Our post on what counts as a good ACoS sets out the break-even math.

November 27–30

Release reserve budget daily. Watch in-stock position and Featured Offer share hourly on your top SKUs.

December

Late-December shoppers convert on delivery confidence as much as on price. Keep spend live through the shipping cutoffs and use the quarter’s data to rebuild audiences for January. Holiday returns also land in January against December revenue, so hold a returns reserve in the Q4 margin model rather than reading the quarter off gross sales.

The short version

The brands that have a good Q4 on Amazon are rarely the ones that bid hardest in November. They are the ones whose inventory cleared the October deadlines, whose promotional pricing was modelled against peak-period economics, and who spent October building the audience they converted over the Cyber Weekend.
